TBR Pile: September 2016

Stack of Vintage Books

Each month I’ll be sharing my TBR pile (“to be read”). I find it helpful to choose a list of books for each month. I know many people have criticized TBR lists saying that it doesn’t allow for mood reading, but I disagree. I always make sure to choose a variety of adult and young adult titles, so I can select my next read based on mood, but still feel some pressure to get a lot of reading done within the month. I also try to keep my TBR list smaller than my normal monthly reading volume, so I still have time for last minute additions.

In September, I’m planning on reading these 7 books.

A Monster Calls by Patrick NessA Monster Calls by Patrick Ness

How I got it: I borrowed it from the library.

Why I got it: It’s my family book club selection. I suggested it because the movie is coming out soon.

    1. Thanks, Grace! I’m about a third of the way into One True Loves, and I am really enjoying it so far. A monster calls is illustrated, and Christopher really wants to see that movie, so I think it will be our next read aloud. I hope it’s not too scary. I am so excited about Leave Me. What mother hasn’t thought about driving away from her kid(s)? 🙂 I hope I love it.

    1. Thanks, Lory. I read A Monster Calls over the weekend, and I really enjoyed it. It’s only 204 pages, and it’s illustrated, so it’s a quick read. I hope you get to it soon.

    1. I enjoyed If I Stay, but didn’t love it. The movie is much better. Leave Me sounds really good, and I always love to see how authors do when they cross genres. My review should be up later this month. 🙂
