TBR List: February 2018

TBR List: February 2018

So…I’m supposed to be trying to read less this year, but so far it’s not working out that way. I read 11 books in January, and I have a huge line-up for this month.

Books I plan to read in February

Love, Life, and the List by Kasie West

Love, Life, and the List by Kasie West

How I got it: I borrowed it from the library.

Why I got it: I must have read a review that made me want to read this book ASAP because I added it to my library hold list immediately vs. just putting it on my Goodreads TBR list.

Love and Other Consolation Prizes by Jamie Ford

How I got it: I borrowed the audio CDs from the library.

Why I got it: I was sent an advanced copy of this book, and I was intrigued because I really enjoyed The Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet when I read it many years ago. But I thought it would work better for me on audio.

Gone Rogue (Wires and Nerve #2) by Marissa Meyer

Gone Rogue (Wires and Nerve #2) by Marissa Meyer

How I got it: I will be borrowing it from the library. (Hopefully.)

Why I got it: It’s Marissa Meyer! I have to read it. I didn’t love the first graphic novel, but it was super fun to read about these characters again. I’m hoping there is a little more substance in this volume.

A Wrinkle in Time (Time Quintet #1) by Madeleine L'Engle

A Wrinkle in Time (Time Quintet #1) by Madeleine L’Engle

How I got it: I will be borrowing it from the library. (Hopefully.)

Why I got it: The movie is coming out in March. Clearly everyone else had this idea too because I’m on the waiting list. I also reserved the graphic novel to read with my son because he wants to see the movie too.

My Name Is Venus Black by Heather Lloyd

How I got it: I was approved for this eARC on NetGalley.

Why I got it: It sounded interesting. And now I can’t remember what it’s about. Does that happen to everyone or just me?

Follow Me (The Amateurs #2) by Sara Shepard

Follow Me (The Amateurs #2) by Sara Shepard

How I got it: I borrowed it from the library.

Why I got it: I enjoyed The Amateurs, and I’m curious about where this series is going to go. I need to read it soon, so I don’t forget everything about book 1.

Gunfight: The Battle over the Right to Bear Arms in America by Adam Winkler

Gunfight: The Battle over the Right to Bear Arms in America by Adam Winkler

How I got it: I borrowed it from the library.

Why I got it: My library has a Humanities Book Club, and I try to attend whenever I can. I enjoy talking with others about the issues facing our country today, and reading a book together is good for sparking conversation.

In Other Lands by Sarah Rees Brennan

In Other Lands by Sarah Rees Brennan

How I got it: I borrowed it from the library.

Why I got it: It’s our YA Book Club pick for this month – Sarah’s selection. Sadly, I’d already read everything else that interested her, and we kind of have a rule about not picking things someone has already read. Sorry, girls!

Piper by Jay Asher & Jessica Freeburg

Piper by Jay Asher and Jessica Freeburg

How I got it: I borrowed it from the library.

Why I got it: I love Jay Asher, and I’ve been meaning to read this book for a while. I enjoy re-tellings, and sometimes a middle grade book can be a fun, quick read.

What will you be reading this month?
