TBR List: August 2017

TBR List: August 2017

This month I am trying “ARC August.” Is that still a thing? Well, if not, I’m making it one. Aside from my one book club book (More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera – Sarah’s pick), which I will be listening to on audio, I am going to be reading only ARCs this month. We’ll see how it goes. ARCs I’ll be reading in August 2017 Reading People: How Seeing the World Through the Lens of Personality Changes Everything by Anne Bogel How I got it: I have an eARC from the publisher because I’m part of the book launch team. Why I got it: […]

Goodreads Book Tag

Goodreads Book Tag

Last year I wrote a post about why I love Goodreads, and I had been planning to do a post about improvements I’d like to see to Goodreads, but then Goodreads adding the main functionality I wanted: The ability to re-read books. And I learned about the Google Chrome Library Extension that allows me to see if a book is available at my library from the Goodreads page. Now it’s pretty near perfect. So when I saw this tag on Mommablogsalot, I thought I should do this instead of the other post I had planned.   What was the last book you marked as ‘read’? I […]

TBR List: July 2017

TBR List: July 2017

I have a fun mix of books selected for July 2017. I actually read (or am reading in the case of the last book) all of the books from my June TBR List, so that’s pretty exciting. It doesn’t always happen that way, and I managed to read a bunch of unexpected books, which is even better. Books I’ll be reading in July 2017 When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon How I got it: I borrowed it from the library. Why I got it: I keep hearing about this book. It was one of my suggestions for book club for July, but we settled […]

Mid-Year Book Freakout

Mid-Year Book Freakout

I’ve been seeing this post around the blogosphere this month, and I couldn’t resist doing this tag. I can’t believe we’re at the half way point of the year, but I have read 78 books so far this year (5 ahead of schedule according to my Goodreads 2017 Reading Challenge), so I have a lot of books to pick from for this Mid-Year Book Freakout tag. First Half of 2017 Best/Worst/Etc.   1. Best Book You’ve Read So Far In 2017 I shared my 10 Best Books of 2017 So Far on Tuesday, but if I had to narrow it down to only one book, […]

Series I Want to Read (Top Ten Tuesday #26)

Series I Want to Read

I love book series. I sometimes struggle to get through descriptive or character-driven books, so when it’s a series, it feels like I’m getting a deal: more plot with the same characters, so less character descriptions or introduction. If I had to choose to read only series or only stand alone books for the rest of my life, I think I’d go with series. But of course they are a time commitment, so there are always more I need to get to. 9 Series I Want to Read (I couldn’t come up with a 10th! I’m sure I’ll find one on everyone else’s lists today.) […]

Books My Husband Should Read (Top Ten Tuesday #25)

Books My Husband Should Read

Books Are Like Couple Friends One of the hardest things about being married is finding couple friends. You each have to like both people, and they both have to like you both. We have a few couples that we love, but there are others where I love the wife, and Jim hates the wife, or vice versa. We’re constantly on the look out for new couple friends. I think books are kind of the same way. I love to share books with my husband. It started with Harry Potter while we were dating, and though Jim doesn’t read much, I’m constantly on the look out for […]

The Secret Life of a Book Blogger

The Secret Life Book Blogger

I saw this tag on Bookmark Lit a few months back, and I knew I had to do it at some point. I can never resist a good tag, even when I’m not actually tagged. And now, everything you ever wanted to know about my life as a book blogger…   How long have you been a blogger? I started blogging at Mom’s Radius in May 2015. I started this blog in August 2016 because I wanted to have a more bookish blog name, so I could get more ARCs from publishers. At what point will you stop blogging? I guess I’ll stop blogging when I no […]

TBR List: June 2017

TBR List: June 2017

I’m excited about my TBR list for June. I have a good mix of YA and adult fiction as well as one non-fiction selection. I started a couple of the audiobooks in May, but I won’t finish them before June, so I’m still including them on this list. Books I’ll be reading in June 2017 The Last of August (Charlotte Holmes #2) by Brittany Cavallaro How I got it: I borrowed the Playaway audio device from the library. Why I got it: I loved A Study in Charlotte when I read it a couple of months ago. I still need to get my review up, but I’m […]
